As a vital member of the Americas CIO Office, the Director will also support the Global CIO Office leadership particularly in IT portfolio planning and management, IT strategic partner and vendor management, and IT workforce management. This role is essential as Eisai EIT teams increasingly globalize and enhance collaboration to realize global EIT strategies. Key Responsibilities: Plan and manage the Americas IT project portfolio. Advance Americas IT Project Management Office capabilities as the Center of Excellence (CoE) lead. Manage overall relationships, contracts, and governance with IT strategic partners. Support the IT Finance Management Lead in the Americas CIO Office to meet overall IT financial expectations. Assist the Americas CIO Office Lead in managing corporate IT governance to ensure compliance with policies and strategic objectives. Essential Functions Americas IT Strategy and Business Alignment (10%) Support efforts to define and gain consensus on a comprehensive IT strategy for Eisai Americas, ensuring alignment with business strategic plans at local, regional, and global levels. Define future state architecture for the IT PMO and Strategic Vendor Management by building strong business relationships, creating strategic roadmaps, and understanding technology impacts on business processes and the organization. Lead IT PMO and Strategic Vendor Management projects and initiatives. Recommend improvements and growth opportunities for IT PMO and Strategic Vendor Management systems by analyzing the current environment and developing procedures for successful implementation. Americas IT Portfolio / Program / Project Management Office Services and Operations (30%) Plan, manage, and track Americas IT portfolios, ensuring IT initiatives align with business goals. Develop, manage, and present IT Balanced Scorecards to measure IT effectiveness from a regional perspective. Oversee financial aspects of Americas IT PMO projects, including RFPs, SOWs, purchasing, budgeting, and budget reviews. Support IT teams in developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate IT investment objectives. Develop and implement Americas IT PMO policies and procedures, ensuring they align with global standards. Americas IT Strategic Vendor Management Office Services and Operations (30%) Manage relationships, contracts, and monitor performance with corporate/enterprise-level IT strategic partners to ensure optimal performance and value for Americas. Lead contract negotiations for corporate/enterprise-level sourcing initiatives, securing favorable terms, mitigating risks, and achieving cost optimization while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal procurement policies. Monitor and track the overall IT procurement budget, manage expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Address corporate/enterprise-level vendor-related issues proactively, serving as the central point of contact for IT sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. Global CIO Office Support (20%) Support Global CIO Office leadership by collaborating with Global CIO Office members and the IT departments of other regions. Promote and contribute to Global CIO Office IT-related projects and operations, especially covering PMO, Strategic Vendor Management, and IT Workforce Management. IT Leadership and Organizational Management (10%) Collaborates with IT leadership to align strategy, initiatives, and projects across the IT organization locally and globally. Manages and leads direct reports including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and performance management. Provides daily coaching and mentoring to staff (direct reports and project teams). Americas Scope Contributes to decision making for Eisai Americas strategic IT platforms including investment planning, business outcome determination, budgeting, and systems related decisions. Directs a staff of 1-2 employees and/or 1 or more contractors and/or consultants. Contributes to management of key portfolio and program management managed service providers including financial management governance decisions. Ability to govern the IT PMO and Strategic Vendor Management process for Eisai IT Americas. Global Scope Supports the decision making and governance processes for global IT strategies, portfolio management, and strategic vendor management. Requirements Work Experience and Education An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration or a related field or equivalent experience relevant to this position. Minimum of 10 years related work experience with a strong understanding of pharma and biotech business functions. M aster of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred. PMP certification with proven experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to lead complex, large-scale projects to successful completion. Information Technology Experience Preferably, Life science IT role with proven experience in IT application planning, development, deployment, and support in multiple domains (such as research, clinical, finance, human resources, manufacturing, sales, marketing). Strong business analysis skills and experience, including development of business/IT vision and strategy, requirements definition, process modeling, and operating model design. Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and enterprise architecture and ITIL frameworks. Leadership and Teamwork Strong track record of effective cross-functional team collaboration and execution. Demonstrated experience working in cross-cultural environments, with the ability to effectively navigate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders from various cultural backgrounds. Effective leadership skills leading teams and driving results with multiple projects across several functional areas. Portfolio / Program / Project Management PMP certification with proven experience in project management, demonstrating the ability to lead complex, large-scale projects to successful completion. Experience in portfolio management, program and project planning, development, and delivery. Experience in managing projects in collaboration with external partners (managed service organizations, technology vendors, and consulting companies). Partnership and Vendor Managemen t Extensive experience in strategic vendor management, including the selection, negotiation, and oversight of vendor partnerships to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Proven ability to manage vendor performance, foster strong relationships, and drive value through effective contract and relationship management.
